Meteor's Edge

A quick guide to the PMD ARPG!

About the arpg

One day, three Eevee siblings went out on a walk through a field. In doing so, they came across a strange meteorite. After interacting with it, they found themselves forever changed, and are wanting to help others find this newfound power as well...Meteor's edge is a Discord-based ARPG focusing on designing Pokemon and completing jobs! Every two weeks, new prompts are posted in the form of jobs, which are completed through drawing, writing, or RPing!

Starter Pokemon

To do anything in Meteor’s Edge, you first need a Pokemon. Go to #starter-claim to stake a claim to any starter of your choice! Do note you can choose any rarity Pokemon aside from Legendary!
You get different bonuses for choosing different rarities, as listed:
Common Pokemon - 2000 PD
Uncommon Pokemon - 1500 PD
Rare Pokemon - 1000 PD
This should be enough to get you started! Please note that before you use any Pokemon, you have to design it and get it on the masterlist!

Design Guide

Before you start doing activities in the server, you have to get your first Pokemon approved! This is a short guide to help you get started. Each Pokemon is allowed to have some individual features - that is, having something as small as folded ears on a Growlithe, or freckles on the bridge of the nose! Each Pokemon is unique in their own way, and we don’t want to restrict at least some individualism! However, for further customization, we do restrict how much a Pokemon’s design can change without items! What we don’t trait:
- Basic markings like freckles or a variation of existing markings
- Small individualistic features that might be a natural phenomenon in some Pokemon
- Minor palette changes that are still resembling the original Pokemon’s colors

Examples of Designs that would pass under normal rulesWhat we trait:
- Larger changes in markings, like adding entirely new ones not seen on that Pokemon species
- More drastic mutations, big or small
- Major palette changes that make the Pokemon unrecognizable by color alone

Examples of Designs that would require items to approveOnce you have a design ready to go, submit it to our approval channel to get it on the masterlist! Do note that masterlist art cannot be submitted for additional rewards!

Fusions

In Meteor's Edge, we allow for Pokemon to fuse with the usage of Meteorites! These Meteorites come in various sizes, ranging from just a fragment of them to entire Meteorites - the size of the piece will determine what rarity Pokemon will come from the fusion! Each Pokemon has the potential for two species - this is broken into a Primary Species and a Secondary Species. The Primary Species of a Pokemon will be the primary characteristics that they will have and is the species they start at, while a Secondary Species will be additions and be the species added with a Meteorite. Think of an Eeveelution fused with a bipedal Pokemon still being quadruped without the use of mutation items!Palette changes to match the fused Pokemon are also acceptable, so long as they follow normal design rules!Currently, fusion is the only way to obtain a Legendary Pokemon!

Examples of Designs that would pass as fusions

Levels

Finishing a piece of work gives a Pokemon EXP! We do not grant entire levels for finishing a piece, though you may gain multiple levels for one particular art piece. Each level has 100 EXP in it!You also gain a bonus for each Pokemon of yours that reaches Level 100!

Evolutions

We require specific requirements when evolving a Pokemon in this ARPG! In order to evolve a Pokemon, you need:- Any requirements to evolve the Pokemon (items, levels, ect)
- A piece of art or writing correlating to the Pokemon evolution (a fullbody featuring any items or circumstances required by the evolution or 750 words of literature)
- The reference picture of the evolved Pokemon
You may apply cosmetic items upon evolution, so the preevolved form might look completely different from its evolved form! That is completely up to you!Evolution art cannot be submitted for additional rewards!

Job Listings

Every two weeks, new jobs are posted! Draw, write, or RP to complete the tasks and gain your rewards!
These jobs range from three categories: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Three jobs will be posted each turnaround, which means one of each difficulty will be posted each time!
Easy jobs are for levels 1-30
Medium jobs are for levels 31-60
Hard jobs are for levels 61-100
It’s possible to complete jobs that are a higher rank than yourself, but be warned! Failure and injury are possible. (NOTE: You will get rewards no matter what happens on your missions. However, they might be lower than what the listed rewards are!)Basic Jobs can be completed alone! 2 are posted every period! They require a drawing of your chosen Pokemon (minimum of 1) with props implying a scene doing the mission in whatever way you want! For writing, it’s 1000 words! (If collaborating, the work must be evenly split with a minimum of 2 characters present. Word count is upped to 1500 words)Advanced Jobs are jobs you must complete with a partner! With a minimum of 2 characters present, you must collaborate either on a simple scene drawing or an RP of at least 2500 words!Job art cannot be submitted for additional rewards!
